The Motivation

Toyota Material Handling is the largest manufacturer of forklifts in the world. TMH is renowned worldwide for their innovation in creating the most safe, reliable, and durable material handling vehicles ever made. My team was tasked with bringing autonomous navigation and manipulation to our fleet of material handling vehicles, starting with the flagship sit-down counterbalance electric 3-wheel forklift. The goal was to make a functional prototype in under a year, and we delivered. Proud of this one. Though I am no longer with TMH, some very special people are still doing ingenious work to make this a reality in a warehouse near you at some point in the future.
